I searched and nothing similar came up, so I thought I would.
What are your beliefs regarding this? Do you have any?

I believe everyone has a higher self which can, with practice, be encountered, and that its form varies for each individual.
As for other spiritual entities acting as guardians and/or guides I remain dubious, perhaps when one has reached a certain point it will attract the attention of such entities enough that they devote time to that individual, but otherwise why would they bother?
That being said, I do think animals are one of the forms the higher self will occasionally take in order to interact with you.
Many times my dreams are filled with ants or a single ant, even though I am terrified of ants I usually draw great inspiration from those dreams I see an ant in.
Ants are amazing creatures, researching them has also given me great inspiration.
So if someone asked me my spirit animal, I would say it is the ant.

I had a strange experience too personal to get into detailed account, but I had it revealed to me through some experiences that mine in early childhood was an owl, but is currently a combination of bee and beaver, though I'd think predominately bee. Then again, there's no mistaking I manifest a lot of Gemini tendencies, so there could be a connection. Just a guess, though, not terribly concerned.
Anyway, much like how Hermes gave us astrology so that we may learn about our connection to the universe, I think the grand purpose for this is understand another archetype (law of analogy). Since my exposure, I've paid respect to the spirit and focused my workings with these understandings. It makes things much easier, and helps me realize what energy I need to tap into to be as effective as possible.
If that's vague, an example would be that when I start getting behind with stuff and am just generally not applying myself in different important areas of my life I start to get depressed and disappointed at my wasted talents. Likewise, I value having a decent amount of time to not worry about anything and lose myself for a few hours. Nothing's that important. Another example would be that I always know what goals I have with the art I create. It all serves my greater purpose, which I feel is using my knowledge and influence to bring people back from the abyss and enjoy their lives. I like offering as much help to everyone as possible and I really like to write/compose/perform... if I can do both as much as possible I'm happy, no matter what. Anytime I think of a bee or a beaver I remember all of this and it encourages me even more to fulfill my goals.
There's something powerful there, but I couldn't tell you the spiritual logistics of it all. I remember the Kybalion mentioning the different levels of being and frequencies and dimension, but that doesn't really explain anything. It could just be the subconscious. Or it could be some unnameable spirit that is in all of the said animals. I have no idea what to think. Fascinates me, though, and helps me, so it doesn't matter in the end.

That is interesting, for me its exploring/traveling. I try to go somewhere different every weekend, even if its only a few miles away.
Whenever I end up staying in one place/pattern of life, for more than a month or so I began to get restless.
I also am not sure how any of this correlates, but it is interesting nonetheless.

How do you think it relates to Crowley's theory of a holy guardian angel?

I think I've pretty much stated my belief in guardians in the first post.
What most believe to be their "guardians" is actually their higher selves manifesting.
Other entities would gain little or nothing by babysitting some random person.
Although I do think individuals who have made a certain amount of progress may attract the attention of another entity of a higher level, it is still questionable if that entity would take the time to guide that one specifically or merely assign a lower entity to just keep track of them.
To be honest though, I haven't read much Crowley, my conclusions are based off my own intuition and common sense.
