My biggest problem is that meditations seem a little useless or that there is no point to them.
I'm just curious if anyone can suggest any meditations i can do to at least keep up some form of progress.

Well I think that the meditations in IIH are placed in a very good order for stable progress if not very fast.
One thing you can try though is giving them small twists, for instance in the visualization exercise you mentioned in your other post.
First make sure you are in the same room as the live creature you are visualizing yourself as. Once you have a solid visualization, overlay it onto/into the actual creature, once this overlay is solidly in place try making that creature do something it wouldn't normally do in that situation such as laying on its back or jumping.
For this to work you have to imagine that you are that creature and it is you doing it not the creature while at the same time maintaining the overlay so that your visualized self makes the creature do it as opposed to your actual self which your consciousness is normally synced to.
Not sure if I said all that right, hopefully you understand well enough to try it anyways.
The main idea though is to take the meditations/visualizations you are already doing and make them yours by changing some part of it.
Finding a practical purpose for these things is hard and requires a knowledge of how things work, but making them more interesting is just a matter of imagination.

You explained it pretty well actually, I think i'll be trying that out next time i get around to meditating. Probably not on my sister though, lol. Once was enough, not really wanting to push the limits on that for fear of consequences. I wonder if i could try this for telekinesis, would be great practice.

lol, I understand that completely, if my sister found out I tried something like that on her she would pound me, lucky for me she moved a few cities away. That way I avoid temptation and bruises.

During the summer anytime a fly was in the room I would try to consciously control what it did. I got it to fly across the room and land on particular fingers I specified while concentrating and then back to the other side, then back to another finger/area, and so on
Kinda stupid but it entertained me as well as worked my concentration for a good hour lol.

I kinda did that with psi wheels, i would focus on making a particular corner point at specific things. was very entertaining, always would get lost in it so i can see why you could do it for an hour.
