using magic is simple. It is easy. It doesn't work because you do this specific thing or that specific thing. It works, because it works. Your will, your intent, your thoughts these are how you use magic. And then chance, coincidence, and luck are your magic coming to life.
I did the elemental meditation on water, an hour later it rained, it did this every single time I did that meditation. Why? was it because i did that meditation to make it rain? No. I did that meditation so that i may gather the water element within myself and release it again. However because I had it in my mind that doing that meditation can allow one to control weather it coincidently rained every time I did it.

I found out that using visualizations while being a good way to use magic can also prevent you from using it.
In IIH thought observation, thought control, and void are only there to tell you that your thoughts and or imagination/visualization are not supposed to be what you use for magic. Though useful they work against you by stealing focus from the intent.

This post is described better than your post on the other board. In this I completely agree, without precise control, a specific path laid out ahead of time, the images only get in the way.
The goal and the path to that goal must be the only things in your mind so that the energy can flow along that path without interruption.
I guess it is how I perceive large amounts of energy in action that led to my misunderstanding on the other board.
Most often I perceive energy as a quick flowing river/stream heading from the source which is my will/desires and pouring into my goal until it manifests.

hopefully they get it, that's about as simple as i can get it to be or it could be that i over simplified it. In my thread on vsociety the IIH one i give a very vague idea about what i'm saying in my last post which says. "Maybe the benefit of trance is lack of concentration" which may also help to describe it though i'm sure this idea will become fleshed out on its own in time.

Enktva would you explain how you manage to conjure rain?

I'm not gonna say i absolutely 100% conjured rain. All I know about it is that i did the water elemental meditation in IIH and afterwards it rained. It did this the following 8 or 9 times i did that meditation as well. I'm just saying if you do a certain thing and a certain thing follows it 8 or 9 times in a row then there's gotta be something more going on.
Though i was not intending to boast with that statement, the only reason i brought it up was it served to express my point on how to achieve magic. I did that meditation purely to build up the water element in my body, however it rained afterwards. It did not even cross my mind for it to rain. However before doing the meditation i read in IIH that the meditation could cause it to. And it was that subconscious intention that (may) have caused it to rain.
A good way to sum up magic is that it's not what you do, it's what you allow. Willing something to occur is not about forcing it to occur, it is about letting it occur. if that makes sense.
